The Twister Special Mustang from R&A Motorsports for 2008 will be a one time only, limited edition, collectors car for only 96 people. The package is available both for Coupe and Convertible models.

The Twister Special package is loaded with 1 of a kind details. The functional ram air shaker has an engraved logo. The convertible has a light bar, headrest covers, and floor mats with the Twister Special logo embroidered on it. The coupe has an amazing view from the inside courtesy of the Glassback roof. Both cars have a center cap makeover with the Twister Special logo hand painted.

Widows Peak Hood, centered headlight grill, throatier exhaust by Ford Racing, sequential taillights, new spoiler front and rear. The chin spoiler, rockers, and rear bumper have a texturized black out. To top it off an awesome updated graphics package.

The Foose wheels have a customized, hand painted, makeover.

The dash plate will be customized with a registry number that will be documented by R&A Motorsports Inc. and carried on the Twister Special Registry website. Each owner will also receive a CD/DVD documenting the making of their 2008 Twister Special.

The Twister Special package is a real value at only $12,995.

Unlike the 1985 Twister II that was a “tape stripe” version only, this is a unique and truly special car in the tradition of the original 1970 Twister’s. In Ford’s current production line methods, it is impossible and much too costly to produce a limited run of 96 cars including all the items shown above. The only way is for a private company to do the conversion process much like that for 1969 & 1970 Boss 429’s where Ford produced the basic Mustang and then sent them to Kar-Kraft for modification and installation of the Boss 429 engine and components and now does the same for the 2007/2008 Shelby GT’s. For a small private company, the cost of performance upgrades would require a tremendous investment in necessary equipment to re-certify the cars to EPA standards. However, once you have purchased the car, had the conversion done and officially accept delivery of the car, you can then have R&A Motorsports, at an additional cost, add whatever performance options you would like. Ford has said they will honor the original warranty so long as Ford MotorSports parts are used in the modifications. It is also possible to have an authorized Ford dealer install a Ford MotorSports supercharger kit on the car producing 400 HP and Ford will cover it under factory warranty.
