ROUSH Performance has just announced that if you buy a 2010 ROUSH Mustang with a manual transmission in it you won’t be hit with a gas guzzler tax. For those that opt for the automatic transmission you will still have to pay a tax but it will not be as bad as previous ROUSH Mustangs. This is very exciting and promising news for Mustang enthusiasts worried about high gas prices reducing the amount of high performance V8 engines that appear in Mustangs. We look forward to providing you with more information on ROUSH’s 2010 Mustang as it becomes available.

Official Release
For far too long, fans of the Pony Cars had to pay a little extra for the privilege of owning one… the dreaded gas guzzler tax. Old Uncle Sam needed a little something extra for the horsepower that we enjoy and it was up to the buyer to pony up, if you will excuse the expression.

However, on the new 2010 ROUSH® Mustang, we’ve got a bit of good news. Actually, we think it is really big news. It appears as though the manual transmission vehicles will have NO added gas guzzler tax! The automatic version will still have to pay the man, but at a reduced level than on our prior models.

How did we do it? Our engineering and calibration team are the best in the business, that’s how.
