Why I love Mustangs: Mustangs are part of my soul
Personal Bio: My Mustang obsession started with a 1966 Coupe with a "souped up" 289. That was my car in high school and a couple years after. So many good memories in that car....My next Mustang would have to wait until I was in my very late 30s. I shopped for a long time, almost pulled the trigger on a Foose Stallion with 60,000+ miles on it. But , I passed on that one. Went to the local Ford dealership and put a deposit down on a white 2013 GT with track pack, recaros, glass roof, navi, etc. I told the salesman that if a Shelby I loved came up between my order date and when the car was supposed to arrive, I was getting my deposit back. He laughed. Turns out, the 2008 Shelby GT-C in Grabber Orange with the 20" Shelby Razor wheels that I had been looking at as a skin on my cell phone for the past 18 months just so happened to come up for sale less than 100 miles from my home. So I HAD to go check it out. My son went with me to look. It was my second time driving a V8 car with a stick shift in many many years. It was raining. The car had never seen rain or snow or any other foul weather. Amazingly, the owner let me test drive and I was immediately in love. Less than a week later she (Jessica) was all mine. I got my deposit back on the 2013 GT. It has been 3 years now with Jessica. I have met hundreds of very cool people, been to amazing car events, taken my writing to new levels and have become a photographer, of sorts. Mustangs are not just cars. Well, they can be if you let them. But for most Mustang owners, it is a lifestyle. An obsession, of the best kind. Sure it can be expensive. But my mustang has given me 35,000 stress free trouble free miles of smiles and memories. I will always own a Mustang, or two. Jessica is never leaving my stable. She will most likely be joined by a newer Shelby at some point in the next year or 2. I am thinking...Deep Impact Blue 2016 Shelby GT350 with white stripes...yeah...that sounds nice.
