Last year, It was Boss Track Attack day along with the Kenny Brown sensation event, and the pits were packed with anxious racers ready to tear up some rubber on the famous circuit. Kenny Brown was there with his heavily modified Autobahn Edition GT4-RS Ford Mustang, Ruby, running laps and talking to the racers giving quick lessons and tips along with Jeff Lacina from Track Guys. It has been almost a year since I last rode passenger in Ruby at Sebring with Kenny himself tucked behind the wheel and ready to roll.

I strapped on my helmet as I climbed in the passenger seat of Ruby, and harnessed myself in. I knew I was in for a ride as soon as he shifted into first, second, third, and so on, throwing me back against my seat with a ridiculous smile plastered across my face. We passed by many other drivers in other high-performance cars almost effortlessly. Either that, or they knew who really owned the track that day and were making way.

You can run the full weekend, or you can get a taste of what it’s like with a $50 test drive with an instructor helping you go at speed around the track, along with a parade lap and, of course, hanging out with the best.

Here is what it was like last year, more of my experience at Sebring by StangTV.com. Check it and make sure you plan on attending this year! You don’t want to miss out on this one, I promise.

Last year around this time, the ’12 Shelby 1000 model made its debut in the same exact spot with people in awe of Shelby American’s latest creation. Pop the hood of last year’s model and you’ll see a supercharged 5.4-L engine used by the 2012 Shelby GT500s, but more beefed up obviously.

Now the 2013 Shelby GT500 has upgraded to a 5.8-L capable of 662-hp has been transplanted, stripped down to the engine block, and upgraded with some tough parts from top to bottom to produce the crazy amount of 1,200 horsepower… and powered by your regular neighborhood gas station. The Ford Racing 4.0-L supercharger definitely helps, along with various suspension parts, upgraded big brakes for powerful stopping power, unique wheels and high performance tires, the Shelby 1000 hood and graphics.

Since this version is seriously powerful, there may be a less powerful version available as well.

“The 2013 Shelby 1000 is the most powerful production muscle car on the market,” said Vince LaViolette, Shelby American’s test driver. “But this car cannot be defined by just its amazing power. The steering provides wonderful feedback and the car tracks beautifully, giving it an athletic feel. It attacks corners, ripping through them with minimal body roll and tremendous grip. Yet the Shelby 1000 can be so docile that you can cruise it down the streets of Manhattan.”

This car will cost you a pretty penny, $154,995, and that doesn’t include the actual price of your brand new ’13 Shelby GT500 to start out with at $55,445. These will be limited to 100 units, so for about $210k you can have the whole shebang.

New colors aren’t the only new things, but don’t expect that SEMA concept twin turbo setup just yet. However, a new three-speed transmission and a new chute mount and SFI-approved housing were all added for the ’14 model year. This mean Mustang will feature the same 2.9-liter supercharger mated to the 5.0-liter Coyote engine.

Ford Racing also decided to add some new hues for the new year consisting of a “Gotta Have It” Green and a flat black that is not a Ford factory paint option along with other colors that were available for the ’13 model year.

It will be fitted with Recaro seats and a unique roll cage. The body is lighter for better weight distribution and to help with body roll. If you’re interested in one, especially in one of the new hues, you may want to look into it as soon as possible since only 50 units will be produced, fewer than the Camaro COPO at 69 units, and we know you’d rather race that Mustang Cobra Jet. For $97,990, you can get your new Cobra Jet with your choice of color and decal. That’s not all, you’ll have a turn-key collectible Mustang that launches like a beast. That Ford Racing suspension will have this baby handling like a charm.

Driving school with The Roy Hill Cobra Jet Experience comes with the Cobra Jet package and you can race in the Cobra Jet Showdown series as well as Stock and Super Stock classes where the car is quite the record holder.

With the newly redesigned ’15 Mustang getting everybody amped up, maybe then you can expect the Cobra Jet to sport insane turbo chargers as seen at the 2012 SEMA show.

This foxy lady was picked up by the right guys at the right time being in the hands of experts with a plethora of parts right at their finger tips. The folks over at AM just finished Stage 2 out of 3 with a few more cosmetic upgrades including a fresh new hue which is bound to turn a few heads.

For Stage 2 to be complete, the following modifications were installed to make this a whole new unrecognizable Fox Body. The bright orange paint was applied and after that, they decided to tackle some of the problems already plaguing the stang such as the ‘vert top, interior and dash, and weatherstripping the vehicle.

Other parts installed include some stock OE headlights keeping that factory clean yet simple Fox body look in the front. The wheels added are 10th Anniversary Cobra wheels, replaced both rear tail lights, added a Fox Body Cowl Vent Grille, replacement stainless steel wiper arms, lower trim windshield moldings, a shorty black 14-inch antenna, convertible power mirrors, and of course they replaced the old worn convertible top with the back glass. The whole top was replaced with the new black top, rear glass, top pads, top boot, top side cables, J-hook latch, latch alignment and pin guide kit. Also installed is a inner and outer door belt weatherstrip kit including the quarter window belt, door reveal molding extension kit, quarter window vertical weatherstrip kit, A-pillar post weatherstripping, convertible top header, top side rail and door end cap.

The interior was cleaned up with black restoration paint for the interior as well as installing new black floor carpeting. The arm rest pads by each window were replaced along with a brand new leather shifter boot. Last but not least, headlight switches with fog lights were added.

Watch out for Stage 3 when performance will be amped up to a whole ‘notha level!

The folks over at Lethal Performance got their hands on one of these brand new 2013 bad boys and have been adding more power to it ever since, making it the fastest new GT500 in existence. If you don’t believe them, you can see their video here where the white beast dominates the drag strip like a bullet while gaining a world record pull at 9.3 seconds at 148 miles per hour! If that’s not impressive, I’m not sure what is.

This sweet Shelby Mustang supposedly has one helluva built engine connected to a 4.0-L Whipple supercharger helping this bad boy really throw down some power and make some awesome times on the track. However, nobody seems to know the exact amount of horsepower this baby is putting down, but it’s likely to be an insane amount no doubt. No nitrous was used to obtain this goal, either, so no spray was used at the track.

In 2011, Bruce found out he had lymphoma after a diagnosis and went to treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Knowing how much of a hard working man Bruce is, his boss, Dan Pothier, from DJ Auto, knew how much the car meant to the family and offered to let him store it in his barn.

That wasn’t boss man’s main intention, though. He had secretly called up friends so they could secretly restore a very sentimental Fox Body for a dear friend and hard workin’ employee. While the Fox was in need of some love, it still had a pretty decent engine and rear end.

While Blood received his treatments, the guys got together to rebuild this old Stang. When Bruce was able to come back to work, hiding the Mustang wasn’t as easy but they managed by moving it around to the shops around town. Bruce took a trip to Tennessee that sent the guys into high gear, replacing clutches, brakes, brake lines, and valve covers.

Bruce asked to visit the car at one point where Andrew had to lie and say that he had lost the key to the door. After the close call and a lot of work, they surprised Bruce with the car last fall. He swore he had no idea what was going on.

Good for Bruce, he’s only in partial treatments now and is healthier than he was before. We are glad to learn that there are some great people out there, and we wish the best to Bruce and his new spruced up ride.

You know, that powerful 427 cubic inch Police Interceptor V8 engine generating 355 horsepower. They came available with a rear spoiler, rocker stripes, and optional Le Mans racing stripes. The headlights are mounted in the grille and the hood is all  fiberglass featuring a hood scoop. It has a longer nose, and roll bar and shoulder harnesses for the interior.

Another fun fact is that only 2,048 of these cars were built. While some I’m sure are kept in the garage anticipating sunny weekends, who knows how many of them have been wrecked or destroyed along the way. Some may still be playing hide and seek in long, forgotten barns.

The artist, South Californian Tom Fritz, used his oil paints to create this beautiful Ford Mustang, and of course the others, stamp based off of photographs with the intention to “capture the emotive quality of the vehicles.” These stamps will always fit the 1-ounce mail rate and come in a set of 20 with 4 stamps representing each car.

The other vehicles accompanying the Shelby GT500 that will be featured on the Forever Stamps will be the 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda, 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, and a 1970 Chevelle SS.

Their reckless behavior could have caused some major problems, besides that Fox Body Mustang nailing that 55 mph speed limit sign while attempting donuts in the middle of traffic. While it seems like all they did was hold up traffic for a few minutes, the video just may get some of these highway hoonigans in trouble.

While some people say this is ridiculous nonsense and this is what gives car clubs bad names which is true. It also makes all of us modified car drivers look like idiots who just want to break the law which isn’t true at all. While the idea seems cool to do in whatever the latest video game is, it probably shouldn’t become a real life stunt routine.Take it elsewhere and off of the freeway. That’s why they make drag strips. Hell, even a back road would be better than this.

Also, to the guy/girl sitting on the back of the convertible, get down. That’s another way to get yourself killed. There were countless calls to 911 to the bay area Police, but the cars left as soon as they came yelling “5-0″ after they backed up traffic both ways for miles. Late flight? Who cares, right? Wrong. Take it elsewhere.

Since Vaughn Gittin Jr. started dominating the Formula Drift Competition, the Falken Tire Monster Energy Ford Mustang became a household name along with JR, himself. Kids and adults alike look up to this nice guy with an extreme hooning attitude. He gets out there to put on a show and makes everything look so ridiculously easy!

With Nitto already paying a few drivers, they might consider dropping a few drivers with Vaughn being one of their main guys. Not sure what’s going to happen, but we’re excited to tune in to see the man slaying some Nittos this coming ’13 Drift season. So far, that’s some pretty big news for the year in the sports world.

It’s not uncommon for the older generation Mustangs to get one of Ford’s newer OEM colors if the owner prefers to do so. This New Edge Cobra owner decided to go “Gotta Have It Green” and this SVT definitely stands out. The green is complimented with black accents, such as the wheels and badges, and blacked out headlights, tail lights.

This was once for sale on a Los Angeles Craigslist but the owner has since taken the ad down. We wonder if he sold the neon green Cobra. Not sure what the asking price was, but it’s definitely a head turner. While this may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s still a mean car that puts down some serious power. The color choice? Well, it’s not the best color I’ve seen on a New Edge, but it’s not the worst. Some colors work better on others on different models and generations.

While it may be too bright for some peoples’ tastes, it’s still a mean car with some nice wheels and accessories. A Cobra is a Cobra, and if you don’t like the color, get it repainted. If you happen to like it, rock it like no one’s business.
