I guess it is I am more than likely wrong so I did some searching. This is the only answer I could come up with. _______We are back in Reno, drove this 99 Ford Mustang here and fixed the door ajar switch problem after reading the 1999 Ford Mustang Workshop Manual, Volume two.
The Ford Mustang door switch connects to the door latch assembly---cannot be seen without taking the door apart.
I guess it is underneath the latch I showed you.
From the way I understand it. The door pin is behind the actuator. It should unscrew. The actuators in the center at the rear of the door. It will be hard to get to but not impossible. You will need a flashlight.

This video gives you a idea of how to do it and where the jamb switch is located. Instead of reaching through the door handle and doing everything. you are going to need a flash light and have to reach in from the inside of the door.
