I recently bought a rebuilt transmission that was beefed up with some Alto Red Eagle, and etc parts from a friend of mine who decided to sell it to go with a TKO. I got it installed into mine and when you shift into reverse it stalls and when you put it into drive it doesn't shift out of 1st. The tranny has a stock torque converter and a Stage 2 Shift Kit. My car has a trickflow stage 1 cam in it as well as Edelbrock heads. I don't know if the stalling part has anything to do with that, but the shifting problem I don't know the issue with that. The transmission shop that installed it drove it not very far or very fast.

after messing with the car some more and trying to get it to start, the car started only with me playing with the gas pedal while cranking and then i had to hold the gas pedal and would not go past about 700 rpm and when i let go of the gas the car shut back off...
Why are they coming a loose? i am using the locks and everything. Could it be that i need to clean them off and let them dry before i try again? could it be that the oil that are in the grooves now from the nut and lock coming off?

Okay.... I've got two mustangs at this point. One of which is a 96 3.8 v6. Useless as far as trying to get a lot out of it. I've done minor bolt ons to it to make it sound and feel better, and look better under the hood.

What I need info on, is my 83 5.0 v8. It's in a little rough condition, interior wise, the body isn't finished, but can be quickly. But as far as it goes, the car is older than I am.... I basically just need a general lay out of what major differences there are between my current car and this one... I have looked about for upgraded performance parts but have found few that claim fittings to the 83 model, most start at 86....Just concerned this may prove to be a problem. If anyone knows a good place for parts for that particular year bracket 83+ and/or have suggestions on what to work on first I'd be glad to hear them. Thanks much
