Ended up running a 9.005@79 MPH on a 2.3 60' (yeah no kidding)

Track was screwing me up.. as there is apparently a slope at the staging lights - so car rolls forward.. makes it difficult to get the right launch going..

Overall an okay night.. My goal is 7.5s eventually

Well it seems it is time to change my trans fluid again. Last time i went with the GM syncromesh, it worked fantastic but i ran into a issue this weekend. back to back runs in the higher rpm range left my shifter notchy and hard to shift. had to let it cool down a good bit before i could shift it normal again. So my question is what fluid should i use that would withstand mid to high rpm runs - ie road course, autox, drift and so on. it could be it just needs to be changed, cause i did it last year about 10000 miles ago, but i do track the car. so im sure its time again but i just wanted to know what yall thought.

autox + random bad stuff = a good day

well i took the mustang out to another autox event, i was planning on getting some in car vids but that was just one area that got screwed up on race day, every thing that went wrong:

forgot my numbers (dunno how, i remembered them before i left)...

well i took the mustang out to another autox event, i was planning on getting some in car vids but that was just one area that got screwed up on race day, every thing that went wrong:

forgot my numbers (dunno how, i remembered them before i left)
i didn't get the adapter to put the camera on a tripod (realised this after rushing to get the tripod mounted in the rear seat)

ok, thats not to bad, everything kinda worked out, i just didn't get ne pics. while racing i got to try out my new r comps, now the rear stuck like glue and the front was slipping (just the oppisite of my street tires) which was my fault cause i never drove on them before.

at the end of it all switching tires back, somehow a stud on the right rear tire stripped, the lugnut has no threads for the first 3-5 rows or so and the begining threads on the stud are one nice smooshed together flatten metal...

but all in all, even though some of this stuff was really frustrating and only realising them when your running around trying to get through registration and tech, and go home, it was an awesome day. I'm actually surprised that i had so much fun racing and talking to other mustang/f stock drivers that all these proplems seem like nothing.

I don't remember where i fell into f stock, there were 6 drivers including myself, ill post the results when the post them online

well i took my new mustang through some auto x courses this last weekend, first day was practice so i ran with modifieds the second half of the day as well. started raining during the second half of the day and i felt like the car and i were doing horrible.

sunday i took it out to the first event and my runs were a little better, i don't think my tires liked the wet freezing ground, but my last run was damp and not soaked and i managed to pull into 4th place outa the 7 drives in my class, everyone said it wasn't bad for not having the car very long. the wife also participated, this is her first year and managed to come in right behind me.

class is F stock (FS):

Oregon Region SCCA - Oregon Region SCCA Solo - Event #1: PIR North Paddock 03/22/09

i do have some vids, but it was filmed with a digi cam with only 4x so you can't see much, i didn't have my tripod for mounting in the car, so maybe next time ill have an incar vid
