widening my rims

Im looking into widening a pair of my '99 cobras to 10"s, my friend knows of a guy that repairs rims for fire, police, EMS, limo services, etc... he knows what hes doing, so i don't have to worry about them breaking/leaking/ or not spinning true, anyways what size tire do you guys think i need run about a 295/305 ish... in know every one runs( or should) run a 315/35/17 on a 17x10.5 but what about a 10 inch rim. I guess a half inch between the two doesn't make that big a difference im also unsure if the back spacing will be enough to keep from rubbing on the tail pipes, etc.

on a side note, i should have new pics up with the cobra bumper probably tuesday afternoon, when i get back to my house. my G/F computer is on dial up

actually, a 295 is about perfect for a 10" rim

if the car is dropped, the 9" wide up front will look perfect.
