285s on front too fat?

I dunno if thatll be too wide or not... I ran into a deal where i can get 2 295/35/18 goodyear eagle supercar tires for 50 bucks with half their tread on them. Since my front tires are too small, and the rears could be larger too... im gonna put my rear tires now (285/35/18s) on the front of my car and the 295s on the rear. Think thatll be too fat or you guys think ill be ok? I know ill probably rub here and there... but i think for the price its worth it.

they would rub for sure, but i don't think they would be too much worse than a 275, what size is on there now?

Re: 285s on front too fat?

265/35/18... but falkens apparently run skinny, so im willing to bet my 285s are closer to the 275 mark. I do know that the 94-98s had better wheel clearance than the 99+ up though, so that might help.

what id do to be on the safe side is run a 275 upfront that way you dont have to worry although like you said falkens run skinny

the only reason id run 285s up front is cause theyre what I have on the rear of my car now. The 265s are far too skinny (just ask spector) for the front, and by paying 50 bucks for 2 tires that are 295 wide... I can mount my current rear tires on the front, and the 295s will replace them on the rears. I wouldnt use the 265s anymore since they got owned by camber on my last car.

Re: 285s on front too fat?

yeah i can definitely see 265 being way too skinny , that sounds like a good plan though , buying 2 and just swaping rear to front and new 1s on the rear

Re: 285s on front too fat?

i have barely any rub on my 275's up front; 285 cant be that bad... but if you cant live with it then just take a box cutter and cut some plastic outta the wheel well.
