Recommended Tires:

I've got to put back tires on my TA. Right now it's got these BF Goodrich Eagle F1s on. They're kindof pricey. I hear lots of people complain about 'em, but I think they're just fine (I've cut a 1.9 60' with 'em). I was thinking about just going ahead and dropping the money to get those, again. If anybody can recommend a good 275/40 for a 17" rim, that would be cool. My car is a daily driver and sees occasional drag-strip action.

Re: Recommended Tires:

i have yokahoma avs es100s they are very nice tires for life, not sure how they do on the track... do some research on how they perform, for the price they are definatly worth a look into

Re: Recommended Tires:

BFGoodrich GForce KD's are pretty good. My buddy has a LT1 trams am and he uses KDW's because they don't make KD's for his 16 inch rims and they even hook up good. The KDW's get pretty sticky if you "heat them up" at the track or elseware for that matter so i'd imagine the KD's are even better.

they might be a good tire but when you have more than 190hp you need traction... theyre not gonna give you the traction you want unless you go with a softer tire.

I wish I could try those Yokos to see how they do. What's everybody think of these Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials?

Re: Recommended Tires:

I dunno, that page says you can still get 15k out of the nitto's, but I find that very hard to believe. I have felt those things and they are a SOFT tire. If you can afford it I would get a set of them and a set of street tires/new rims. I think it would end up paying for itself after awhile. That is if you goto the track enough to burn them off and not mind having to swap 2 tires out.

Re: Recommended Tires:

my friends car has nitto DRs on it, still has half life and he has a good many miles on them, they should get you 10-15k easy.

I dont run DR's but everyone I know that does prefer the nittos because they use them for the street/strip and get a good amount of milage out of them. Whenever I do switch to DR's ill be putting nittos on there. MT's will only last like 5k miles and BFG's will last around 8-10k. Nittos have been known for 15-20k

Re: Recommended Tires:

I ended up going with the same ones that I had before. Goodyear (not sure why I thought they were BFG's in the original post...) Eagle F1's. I might get my Salad Shooters wrapped in drag radial or ET Street. We'll see.

Re: Recommended Tires:

nittos run narrow compared to other tires to watch out for that.
