Re: need some tire advise

I have toyo proxes tpt's on my car and love them. Tread wear has been pretty good as well, almost 20k on the tires, and not much noticable wear.

Re: need some tire advise

My toyos make the stock goodyears that came on my car look like crap. I went through two sets of those goodyears, always hydroplaning. Now with my toyos....I do alot better. Still some hydroplaning, but that's partly to do with the stiff suspension.

Re: need some tire advise

I had Yokos A195 or something like that. Great tires. I used those and slicks at the track and they hooked rather well. Never really got sideways in the rain.

www.tirerack.com has ratings based on the tires performance both wet and dry, as well as longetevity, grip, etc. Great site

Re: need some tire advise

get cheap tires, as long as you have the stock 15/16 inch rims they wont be wide enough to hook up worth crap so dont waste your money. I would spend it in upgrading rims and tires together. Ford rims are very very cheap. you can get second hand off ebay or you can buy new for as low as 400 a set (rims) and the tires are usually just as, if not more, expensive as the rims.

If you can get 800 bucks you get a nice set or rims/tires for your car.

Re: need some tire advise

Like Spector V says makes good sense, especially if used during the bad weather seasons. See my advice on "Need to choose new tires...Need help" thread.
