Tire question

Hey all, it's almost time for me to get new tires and I'm wondering wha to get. The stockers on my 2002 v6 are junk...they don't grip well. I want an all season tire that won't break the bank and will have good grip. I was looking at the Kuhmo ESCTA ASX tires....anyone know anythign about those? Tirerack sasy they have excellent tread rating and traction is good.

Also, looking at traction t/a's from bfgoodrich...any input on those??

Re: Tire question

Pretty much...you can either have really good traction or really good treadwear....I have a tire that's a little more on the traction side, and after 17000 miles on them, they show little wear for the miles.

Re: Tire question

any tire you get in a 205 or 225 isnt going to do much. I would just get cheap tires and save up for new rims/tires.

Re: Tire question

I've done a fair amount of research in this area, wet conditions in mind, (because I live in the state of Washington & didn't have a whole lot of money to spend!) and I found the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 in the stock 225/55 VR 16's for $73.00 ea. from the "Tire Rack" look to be the best looking tread and test results for an all season tire at the best price or if your looking a little more performance minded, the Bridgestone Potenza RE750 for much better test results at $118.00 in the same size. Re: Tire question

i ran the kumo 712s and they suck. They are a modest tire~ but for the money the yoko AVE ES100s runs circles around them. In a stock 225/55/16 look for cheap though cuz you surly wont get performance out of them.
