285/40/18 pics please

Just dropped my 06 1.5" and want to see your 05-09 rear tire pics please. I am trying to decide what size to use on mine and want to see what it might look like. Looking to choose either 285/40/18 or 275/40/18 for mine.

Mine has been dropped 1.5 in front and 1.25 in rear and has 255/45/18 on front and 285/40/18 on rear. These are the tires that comes with the car.
Here is one pic., I haven't taken any pick in a while but there are others in my album.

Re: 285/40/18 pics please

I am being told to use 275/40/18 on the rear and that if I use 285/40/18 I will have to roll the fenders. Looks like the fenders are rolled from the factory so thats not an issue. I like the way yours looks which is exactly what I am looking for Thanks.

We're running 275/40/18 all the way around, but on a 9.5" rim.

Re: 285/40/18 pics please

I saw one the other day with 275/40 all the way around and it really looked good. Anyone have a pic with a 285/40 from the rear on a 1.5 drop?

Re: 285/40/18 pics please

My car isn't lowered, but I am running 285/40-18s on 10" wide wheels on the back, with 255/45-18s on 9" in the front. My tread width on the back is about 11.5". I'll take a better picture if you want. My rear tires just fit inside the fenderwell, meaning they don't stick out.

Re: 285/40/18 pics please

10mm is not much, remember its 5mm per side (inside/outside) of rim. Every 25.4mm is one inch for reference so its not much.

If its a tire that usually runs narrow go 285 vs 275

also if its a 9 inch wide rim 275 is perfect, any smaller may be to small for that wide of a tire fyi.

Can I see a pic of your car from the back tires?

Re: 285/40/18 pics please

You're welcome. I like the way my car sits with these wheels and the factory suspension. I have no rubbing issues front or rear. Good luck in your search for new wheels and/or tires.

mustantg simply sit to high and it hurts their looks, its amazing how much a difference a drop can make in looks and driving.

Re: 285/40/18 pics please

no, there is no argument. Mustangs visually sit to high stock and have FAR to much wheel well gap. Just how it is...

I cant find any of my pics before I droped but

before

after

No argument from your point of view, that is! But that's okay; we all have our opinions. Not saying your car or any lowered 'Stang looks bad; just saying I like mine the way it is. More room for the rear to squat when I dump the clutch, especially with 3.73s on the way soon.

Does my car really stand so tall with the factory suspension?

its not horrible, but its just to high for my personal tastes. If you like it how it is then thats all that matters.
