Wink need tire advice-please help!

I'm buying 18" chrome 2003 Cobra rims from AFS, but don't want their tires. It was recommended to me to look into Falken Ziex ZE-512 and the reviews I've found on the internet are mixed. I have a '94 GT convertible that I drive only during the summer on nice days (I try to avoid the rain). I tend to peel out (the car has a mind of its own so I don't want to go through my tires too fast. Plus I was hoping to only have to pay around $200 a tire. Any comments/suggestions? I was also recommended to get either 265/35/18 or 255/35/18. So will the 265's rub?

Thanks!!!!

Check these out.

The 275/35/18's are what I'd recommend (assuming the wheels are 18x9, which they most likely are in a 2003 Cobra re-make). This will give you an overall tire height of ~25.57" which is very close to stock (for reference a stock 245/45/17 is ~25.68"). $187 a pop.

I've had two sets of them, and you can't beat them for the price. Should last at least 40,000 miles with somewhat conservative driving. Plus the tread pattern and sidwalls both look great. I think SpectorV will back this choice up.

Thumbs up Re: need tire advice-please help!

Great! I'm so excited to step up the look of my car, and I just want to do it right. You all are awesome, thanks for the help!!!! My brother and Dad are the only people I know who know about car stuff, but they know nothing about rims and tires. I'm trying to learn as I go but I feel like such a girl!!!

Re: need tire advice-please help!

You may have a bit of rubbing but its not bad at all, well worth it.

I have the yokahoma AVS ES100's very good tire MUCH MUCH better than kumo and the like. Definatly look into the Yoko's and make SURE if its a 9 wide rim you run a 275 tires to fit it correctly. 2003 and 2004 cobras run this tire stock and they dont have rubbing issues.
