That's what I was wondering. As long as you don't get DR's and keep some tread on 'em, they'll be fine.

Even those 275 DRs I had really weren't bad in the rain at all. People make it out to be more of a problem than it is. I think it's a matter of not driving like a complete idiot.

My biggest problem with really wide tires is hydoplaning and Ice. Even with a good rain tire 315 want to ride on top of water. I had 315's on My last Z28 and when I hit standing water the car got really squirly. There is so much contact surface it planes on water. On ice forget about it, they suck

Re: So I'm kinda liking these.

Yeah, I refuse to drive the LX when there's any trace of ice on the road. Back when I had my '91 Convertible GT that was pretty much stock, I had to drive to work one day with a little ice on the road and thought I'd never make it. My road has a place where it dips down a fairly steep little hill, curves at the bottom and then right back up another steep hill. I didn't think I'd ever make it up that damn thing.

Yeah... you'll probably want to avoid the rain with them... They have very little tread.

Here is the new Tire rack rating and the Firestone Wide Ovals are second to the Generals and the Generals are $30 cheaper a tire

Re: So I'm kinda liking these.

i like the tires i got, Kelley Evo-Z, bought them on Ebay for 454 shipped... great tire, low sound, have 15k on them, not a sign of treadware.... awesome design to, almost identical to Goodyears Eagle F1? i believe... just check them out... excellent tire. they come in 245 if thats what your looking for, i have 275/40/17 and are also z-rated for speed, ... all i can say, excellent tire. I brought my tire to simple simons to get a nail taken out of it, and the service guy was like... woah thats the new evo-z's... were bout to build a kelley dealer out here because of the demand for the tire.

all in all, great damn tire.
