Re: what size tires do i use?

Those sizes will. If you go smaller, then you are exposing the rim lip.

Re: what size tires do i use?

265's will fit, but will pretty much come flush with the edge of the rim or be slightly inside the rim depending on the brand of tire. Same with the 295's.

For example, a 315 nitto 555 drag radial will come right flush with the edge of your 10.5" rim. However, a 315 mickey thompson will extend out past the lip enough to protect the rim.

For the record, Ford used 9" rims on the 03/04 cobras....they used 275 tires on them stock.

I bought my 18*9's from them. No problems at all except I went with the 245's and now I have nicks on my rims. Go with the 275's like purevenom said. I need to change mine out and thats what I will be going with. The sad part is Ive only hit one curb in my 4+ years of having them. The rest are because of ******bag mechanics tossing my rims to the side.

Re: what size tires do i use?

Yah definitely go with 275's on the fronts...I have 245's and the lip of the rim is exposed...definitely have to be careful when going around curbs etc.

315's will usually protect the rim...my Sumitomo 315's are about flush with the lip.
The only non drag radial 315 I can think of is the Kumho Ecsta XS...

I haven't heard anything about Cruizin Concepts regarding tires...check Discount Tire Direct and Tire Rack...not sure what prices are at there, but it might be worth it to do a price comparison.

Re: what size tires do i use?

different tires measure differently, there is no benchmark they have to meet~ so keep that in mind, as many have said Nitto tires run narrow vs other brands that do not.

I would go with only a 10 wide, do a 17x8 front and 17x10 rear~ if they offer that fitment. That way you can do a 255/45/17 in the front and a 295/XX/17 in the rear~ When you start worrying with a 10.5 you need a 315 tire and they can get expensive (not so bad in 17's but just FYI)

Plus the proper offset/backspacing to make the rims look right without rubbing is key

for a 17x10 you want 3.5 frontspacing (6.5 backspacing) max without worrying about rubbing the fender edge or having to roll the fender edge (lip) you may can push it to 3.75~ but thats the limit.

ok yeah my dad was talkin to his friend from work and he also said to go with a 17x8 for the front which they have on am. but i havent seen a 10 inch bullitt on am or cruizin concepts so its either 8,9,10.5 and cruizin also has a rim with a 27mm offset for the 10.5 rears.

heres the different sizes and offsets from cruizin and am

Cruizin
17x9 has 24mm offset
17x10.5 has 27mm offset

AM
17x8 has 30mm offset
17x9 has 24mm offset
17x10.5 has 28mm offset

Re: what size tires do i use?

To be honest...there is a noticeable difference in appearance between 17x8 and 17x9" rims. If you want the wheels (bullitts) to sit flush with the wheel well get the 17x8's. If you want them to stick out a tad (and I mean a tad, not too much), get the 17x9's.

I have the 17x9's in front and imo they look way more aggressive than the 17x8's, especially with a good +1.5" drop.

It's really a personal preference.

Re: what size tires do i use?

as you lower your car the front wheels tuck in more due to the geometry of the suspension design, the rear being solid axle does not share this, while an IRS also tuck in the rear tires a bit as they are lowered.

27mm offset means the mouting point of the wheel is 27mm off the center of the rim, if its a 9 inch wheel then 4.5 is the center, 27mm is about an inch so its 3.5 inches frontspacing 5.5 backspacing on the 9 inch wheel (there are positive and negative offsets but for mustangs its generally all as I said above)

3.5 is .5 inchs more than my front rims~ mine are 2.95 frontspaced but in that range its fine~

The 30mm on the 17x8 means 4 inch center line (25.4mm is an inch fyi) so 3 inch front space and 5 backspace on that rim

Re: what size tires do i use?

will the 10.5 fit in the wheel well? i think my springs are wearing out because my car seems to sit lower than all the other v6 stangs i see out there and i know it hasnt been lowered yet. this worries my dad because he is afraid that if i get 2 friends in the back of my car the tires will begin to rub in the fender well, doesnt worry me because i hardly ever have more than one passenger and i plan to go ahead and replace the shocks and struts as well as lower it as soon as i have new wheels and tires. and if i were to go ahead and get lowering springs and shocks and struts would that stiffen it so that if i did have friends in the back it wouldnt rub? im just wonderin this because my dad is tellin me to just buy 17x9 all the way around so we dont have any problems, i kinda think he just doesnt want me to buy the deep dish cuz he said he doesnt like the way they look. but this is really stressing me out becuse i wanna buy what im happy with but i also dont want to **** up and they end up not fitting or they rub, and ill be making the purchase next time i get paid.

Re: what size tires do i use?

They should fit fine man...I've seen 2 many sn95's with 10.5" deep dish rims for them to have rubbing issues. If you're really that worried about them rubbing you can always get the fender rolled...but I don't think that's necessary.

Keep in mind most lowering springs are made where the rear is lowered less than the front. You can also leave the isolators in the rear to keep that extra .25" of lift in the rear.

If you plan on getting lowering springs that lower the car more than 1.5", I'd get new shocks/struts to handle the change in spring rate. The stock ones in good shape will wear out fast, so stock shocks/struts in poor shape are a ticking time bomb.

Re: what size tires do i use?

Either would look good imo...actually chrome bullitts with 10.5" deep dish rears would be sex on your car.
