Re: wheels

Here are my 10.5" rims with 315's out back. The vert has the 10.5's, the coupe has the stocker 9" that came off my vert.

Re: wheels

the difference in a 245 to a 255 is 10mm, every 24.5 mm is an inch and you figure 5mm per side~ so thats not very much of a difference overall~ about 5mm perside = 1/5th of an inch.

if you want a 10.5 inch rim you need a huge tire to go on there, a 315 at least.

my question is because my 2001 stang has 17 x 9.5 all around, in front im running michellin pilot sport 255/40/17 and 285/40/17 in the back, and have the rubbing "problem" at full lock, mayne that .5 inch is the difference

Re: wheels

na 17x9 wheels with the correct (ford) offset will rub a bit at full lock BUT you shouldnt be going to full lock anyway... they are OEM on 03/04 cobra if that tells you anything. ford just installed a clip in the steering rack to keep them from turning to much and rubbing~ you are hitting the front sway bar and if not that the A arm.

And 255s are way too narrow for a 9.5" rim.

Re: wheels

its in inches, its the distance from the hub to the front edge of the rim if I remember right. I had all this in the huge wheel/tire article i wrote but its no on the new server yet. The 95 model cobra R rims with oem ford offset *17x9 inches as well* are 5.95 offset if that helps.
