Wheel rub

I have a '04 conv V6. I PUT '05 GT Bullitt style 17 inch wheels with 245/45/17 tires. Now with Locked to right wheel rub on the left side. Local parts store says he has 7/32, 5/16, 7/16 spacers. Which one if any will help and still give enough lug thread.

Re: Wheel rub

if I remember right the 05+ wheels stick in more and as you said rub. Find the rim back spacing and then take rim width - backspacing. The number you get is your front spacing.

You should put the rims in the front of the car so their front spacing is about 2.85 - 3.00 inches. Thats about where an OEM 17x9 rim will sit~ some where in that range.

For the back the front spacing can be more of course to give you that better looking stance. Not sure on a live axle car but I am sure you can go 3.5 inches front spacing in the back.
