Wheels

I was wondering how big of a tire and rim could i do in the back without having to modify the suspension or wheel rub. then what about the front tire. I want to get that sort of staggered look.

I got a 98 mustang as well, I love it and I haven't had a problem yet. I wouldn't go more than 18 in the back and 17s in the front so you don't rub. You'll defiantly need low profiles but for the width in the rear I'm not sure how a 9 width would fit, it could need spacers. I was too broke to buy wheels so I just sanded mine bare and painted them with love. They've lasted a year so far with no chips. Good luck finding what you want.

Re: Wheels

for 98 go with 17x9 all around, 17x8 all around, 18x9 all around or 18x9/18x8 front 18x10 rear

those will all work fine with no issues (well a 9 inch wide front wheel MAY rub at full wheel turn a tad but not bad. I had some on my 97 no real issue just dont turn the wheel all the way~ and issue solved.

You have to also worry about offset/backspacing all that good stuff. You want to stay around 3 inches front spacing for the front of the car

front spacing = rim width - backspacing

when you get wheels decided on we can help with tire size as well

if you wish to keep it simple and save on tires then go 17x8 or 17x9 all around so you can rotate etc

Thanks alot guys. I love this forum. Everybody is so helpful. I'll post pics of the stang when I get it from my grandfather's body shop. It was totaled in the front. I only paid 500 for it so I think I got a good deal.

Re: Wheels

ive seem some go with 315mm tires in the back or 335's~ but I would say a 315mm wide rear tires requires an 11 inch wide rim it might be to much honestly, a 295 on a 10 wide looks good.
