Tire size??

Hi everyone, im looking to get a different size rear tire on the rear of my 87 GT and im needing some advice. I am currently running a 275/50-15 et street radial and i am wanting to run something a little bigger. I was looking to go with a 275/60 et street radial or a 27/11.5 hoosier quick time pro. I will be using a 15x8 draglite with 5.5 backspacing. My fenders are rolled and the inner is beat in. What can i fit without having rubbing issues? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Adam

Re: Tire size??

I really think the 11.5 will be pushing it, especially with a hard launch. There's no reason you can't hook on a 10.5 tire unless you just want the look.

Well ive had a set of 28/10.5 et drags on there before but they rubbed prett bad. I didnt have the fender lipped either though. The et drad was 10" tread and an 11.7 section but the quick time pro is only 11.2 section with 10" tread so i didnt know if i would be ok with those? And im not gonna lie, i live the look of a big slick on the back! Lol

Has anyone ran a 28/11.5-15 hoosier quick time pro? I know a buddy of mine ran a 27/11.5-15 on his without too much rubbing. The only difference i can see between the 2 is one is a little taller. The section and the tread are the same? I will settle for the 27" but i would like to run the 28" if all possible!
