CHROME LIP STAIN?

HELLO GUYS!

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY RIMS. I HAVE DEEP DISH BLACK BULLIT RIMS AND I LIVE IN VA. WE HAVE HAD SNOW AND SALT ON THE ROADS AND WHAT NOT AND I JUST RECENTLY NOTICED SOME SPOTTING ON THE RIMS, IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE RUST, AND WHEN I TRY TO CLEAN IT IT SEEMS STUCK.

I CLEAN MY RIMS AS SOON AS I GET A CHANCE TO KEEP THEM IN GOOD CONDITION, EVEN IF ITS COLD AS **** OUT ILL STILL CLEAN THEM.

FROM A DISTANCE ITS NOT NOTICEABLE - WHEN U ARE CLOSE U GOTTA B REALLY CLOSE TO SEE THEM. ANY ONE KNOW WHAT I COULD DO?

Re: CHROME LIP STAIN?

So you think that wont come off at all?
Its only really noticeable if you get close tho, thats the good thing - but i would rather have it gone!
Front rims r good tho... Only rear rims r having this problem

Re: CHROME LIP STAIN?

going by the pattern of the metal it looks polished to me, so dont frown as thats gonna be easier to deal with if its not clear coated. If it is you cant polish it like normal. if its not clear coated you can polish it easier.

Re: CHROME LIP STAIN?

determine if its chrome, clear coated over polish, or just polished first.

Re: CHROME LIP STAIN?

It more than likely has clear coat over it. If not you could try Mothers polishing compound...I used it on my 98' Suzuki Samurai that had seen nothing but trails and got rid of all the spots on it...just a suggestion though

Re: CHROME LIP STAIN?

I believe it's polished with the clear coat...not actual chrome, so you're in luck. Yah try either a polishing compound or something like Eagle 1 NevrDull...works good on chrome and polished surfaces...just make sure to buff it real good and maybe rinse the wheels afterwards.
