Stock tire size for 00 gt wheels?

Anybody happen to the tire size for the 00 gt stock wheels? I'm buying them from someone on Craigslist for 220 bucks . Two of them have wheels on it already and they are almost brand new. The wheels are 17 x 8 I know that and the two tires are 225. But I thought the stock tire size was 245. And if they are 225 is it still possible to put 245 for the other two wheels that don't have tires ? Thanks for any info

245/45/17s were the factory size for the 17x8 rims that came on those cars. A 225 will be to narrow and wont look right. it also wont protect the rims from curb rash. A 245 is a bit to narrow generally for an 8 inch wide rims, but it works. I like 255's for a touch more protection for the rims.

For comparision 25.4mm is an inch so 245 to 225 is 20mm, so about an inch~ and thats side to side so half an inch shorter on each side of the rim compared to a 245/45/17.

The 225 would need to be a 225/50/17 to keep the same height

Sweet I want fat wheels anyway. But If I get 255 on the back can I keep the 225 for now just till I afford some other size for the front? Or will I just mess it all up.

ive never personally seen 225's on an 8 wide, I think its possible but you may want to ask a tire shop to see if it will be safe to mount them
