07 GTR rims

ok i'm thinking about getting the GTR style rims 20x10 5-114.3 50GBM and wrapping them with these tires 255/35-20 . the website recommends a 265 or 275 for a 10 inch rim but the 255 are exactly 10 inches wide. will it look strange if i dont go with the wider tires and do you think i will have rubbing issues in the front:dunno:

Re: 07 GTR rims

Look Here:

http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/t28775/

I have 20x10 bullitts on the rear of mine, and they have 285/30's on them...I dont believe and 20x10 will fit on the front though; I believe you will have to go with a 20x8.5 on the front; i think thats the size that the GTR wheels come in...I know's it is a staggered setup though; 10" in the back and 8.5" or 9" in the front...a 255 will be too skinny a tire for a 10" wide wheel...sure you could make it fit, but that will mean you are going to be getting BAD curb rash on those wheels...a 255 would work and is ideal for an S197 body on the front wheels if they are 8.5 or 9 wide, but not 10"...you will need AT LEAST a 275 or more on a 10" wide wheels...some people even say going bigger than that all the way up 315 or 325 in some cases....but like I said, I have 285's on the back...on a 20 x 10" wheel...

Re: 07 GTR rims

ok thanks, well i was gonna get the 20x9s but the website doesnt have them in black, only anthracite and silver. and im on a very tight budget so i was gonna get the 255s if they would work, but it looks like im gonna have to settle for the anthracite instead of the black

Re: 07 GTR rims

255s are way too small for a 10 inch wheel. I have 285s on a 9 inch wheel on the front of my 06 with no rubbing issues.

Re: 07 GTR rims

The rims will fit fine and wont rub even when the car is lowered 2 inches. I have no problems whatsoever. Just dont get the knock offs, Get the gtr's made by axis.
