Car shuts off when WOT

My car dies off when I floor it all the way to high rpms in like 4th gear. When I slow down I put it in neutral and brake a bit ad the rpms just go down until it dies and I have to start it again. Feels like its starving for gas. What could it be?

That's happened to me before. Is it when you put both the clutch and the brake pedal in at the same time? I got a tune from Bama a couple months ago and that seemed to have fixed it. I can't be sure but I think it was linked to my cold air intake somehow.

Well the mass air flow was my first thought but I have a vortech supercharger on it so I don't know where that sensor is or how could I buy a different one??

And yeah it is when I hit both the clutch and brake

Hmm it should still be in the intake somewhere

Re: Car shuts off when WOT

it should be just after your air filter..even on a SC application...hunt it down and remove it carefully...buy a can of MAF cleaner and spray the inner threads down (don't wipe them)...also check to see if any are broken...if they are then you might as well look into buying a new one...which you can find after getting the part number off the one you have now

Yeah that's what I'll do thanks man. Could that really be causing the problem though? And if it is should I replace it for a different one (obviously a new one but a different size?)

I bought a tuner when I put in my gears and that seems to have fixed it. But idk about a supercharged application
