Exclamation HELP ME pick out new rims for the Cobra!

Ok guys and gals.

I will be buying new rims this winter. I have come down to 2 different options and I can't decide. Please help!!!
I will be running 18", 9" front and 10" rear with Micky Thompson ET streets.

Here are the 2 choices:

#1. True Forged Mach 5

#2. FR 500

Ok, I love love love FR500s but those TF Mach's look freaking awesome! I'm changing my mind and saying TF Mach's! Did you put a poll up?

I might just do that! I think I would sell my old ones for $500 with rubber.

Re: HELP ME pick out new rims for the Cobra!

FR500s are just everywhere, I had the same issue... I wanted different and the FR500s just didnt do it for me. I wanted a bigger lip in the rear and TF is the way to go for that... but expect to roll your fenders if you want a big lip (past 3.5 inches). I would keep the lip at 3.5 inches to avoid such things if I had it to do over again.

If you go with TF's and go polished you have to polish them twice a year (well I would recommend it) and it takes about... 2 hours to polish them inside and out~ chrome would be easier to deal with.

I went with TF's regular cut front, I like the big brake cut now better (smaller lip basically so you can fit bigger brake cailpers)

Also consider CCW (SP500) and Vossen.

Good stuff Brandon! How hard is it to roll your fenders? Did you do it?

Re: HELP ME pick out new rims for the Cobra!

its not hard, I did mine... the issue is some dont roll evenly (the welds leave little bumps as they dont roll as easy as the non spot welded areas)

Mine rub at the very back edge where the rear bumper meets the quarter panel... that area is re-enforced the way the panel is made so you cant roll the very back edge easily~...

I personally would just try to avoid a rolling situation.
