tire sizes

what is best to out on my 01 cobra with the stock 17 in chrome rims? I was thinking 265/45 any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated!

Which cobra wheels are they? If they are the 17x9s then id run a 275/40/17...its what i ran on the back of my old cobra r's

stock chrome 17s i believe 8 in wide.

01 cobra. They are 17x8 and factory size is 245/45-17. You can go up to a 275/40 for the rear but a 275 in the front would probably rub at full.lock.

Yeah they would....id either leave the front at a 245 or go up to a 255

ok so.should i.put 255 all the way around.or.just in front and 275 in rear? also should i stick to 255/45 or go 255 50?

i say get 245's up front and 275's out back. my litttle brother has 275's all around on his stock 17x8 bullitts

i just don't like driving with a 275 up front...it always made the front end wanna follow every rut in the road...does your bro ever have that issue?

he just uses those wheels as backups though. but i do run 275's up front with my cobra wheels and i have no issues.

That size is what AM recommends on a 9' wheel up front 275

45 is the hight of the tire. 255 is how wide the tire is. if your the type of person who believes in rotating tires, just get them all 255's all around. thats a more than safe setup
