Wheel spacers?

My shop teacher in high school told me these were a bad idea. If i ever end up finding brembo brake wheels for sale near me i want them, then id want to have them poke out a touch, just beyond the lower fender area in rear and flush on front tires. I dont mind my stock wheels they just look lame...they pretty much stay inside the fender. I know that is what its supposed to be but for some reason i like things nice and flush.

What is the deal with spacers...do they stress the stock lugs? How do they affect handling. Im talking 4-5mm here nothing huge.

I had 25mm wheel spacers on my last car. If you use 'hub centric' wheel spacers, you won't have any problems with 'anything'. I used H&R, they cost more but worth it

4-5 mm wont even be noticeable. That's like lit over 1/8".
