Biggest tire on a 17 inch tires

I'm getting a set of bullit style rims from a 2000 mustang. For my 05 gt. what's the best tire size for drag racing on them. And what's the biggest size I can fit

Personally... 275 on a 17x8 has too much concave tire flex. They are intended for 9 to 10 inch wheels so the tire is a whole inch wider than the wheel... Looks bad to me. That just a personal input. But i have seen it done.
