Tire hum

Just installed a set of staggered AMRs with Pirellis. I've got about 36K miles on the car. Now it has a strange hum. Doesn't have the growl of bad bearings, just a noticeable hum. Anyone else have this experience?

Are they a simmer tire or what? Usually sticky tires tend to have more road noise than an economy tire.

They are the all-season tires carried by AM.

It's probably just tire noise. Does it get louder as you get faster? Does the hum sound anything like how a lifted truck or a semi sounds like?

The perllies are garbage...I don't know how they live with themselves charging what they do for those tires.... 10,000 miles they are worn, they vibrate, noisy and yes it is like having truck tires on the car...did all the rotations and one or two burnouts only...They are S**T tires!

I have a pickup and it's not that sound. I have the same tires on my GT but they are not staggered and do not make that noise. The Pirellis cost a lot less than the Nittos or Mickeys. My GT has 20K on them and they still have a lot of tread. The hum does not sound like tire whine, it's a lower tone but yes it increases with speed. I'll just learn to live with it.
