Question about tire and wheel

Hi guys, I have a '13 GT. The car has all factory tires and wheels.
I plan to install wider rear tires (maybe 285) , I wonder if I need to replace the wheel? The current tires are 245.

Thanks!

I currently have 285/35/19 on 9.5" wheels...fit great. Sold a set of Pirelli P Zeros to a guy with track pack wheels...they fit very well on his 9" rims...just info for you.

Would 265 looks "different" from 245?

If ur rim is 8.5 the highest u could safely go is 265. Just use those tires till they wear out and replace them with staggers wheels

Someone recently put 275s on a 8 or 8.5 inch wheel. S197 stock wheels. They're fine.

Discount tire told me 275s were the max on my 9" wheels. I guess the tire brand might make a difference tho.

You're the one who don't it! Well I guess then cuz my cousin has 275 in his 18x9 in the front and they seem perfect. I'm gonna keep my 245s up front with 17x9s here soon
