Tires??

Hey everyone, new to the forum. So I just got a 2008 v6 5speed and wondered what are the best tires for my new ride? I have heard of many people using different tires in the front and back to compliment agility as well as speed. Any thoughts or wisdom would be appreciated.

Most people on here will get a staggered set up, like how i have 18x9s in the front and 18x10s in the back. A lot of people will also get DOT approved drag radials for extra traction.

I bought these tires (Sumitomo's HTR Z II ) and they have been a good tire for me. I live in SW Florida and with all the rain we have had these tires have done nothing but grip the road. When the time comes for new tires I would buy these again.

I just bought a set of 255/55/17 kumho ecsta asx tires to replace the oem pirelli pzero nero and I honestly couldn't be happier. The pirelli's were awful tires...spun like all hell in first and then slammining it into second would almost always result in the car sliding out to one side or the other...I hated them and wish I would not have waiting so long to get these kumhos...especially at only $112 a tire. now when shifting hard into second, they let out a nice bark and hook right away, no more spinning and i'm pulling. I don't have to let off the gas at all with these. the oils from the molds went away after a few days and the treadsquirm is not nearly noticeable now...i like these tires alot, just too bad they don't make them in an 18x10 when i upgrade my rears this christmas.

Cool, I actually bought the car with pirellis in the back and sumitomos in the front. Wasn't sure if I should leave it or not. Thanks for the advice.

The bfg gforce sport comp 2 are also awesome tires. With Ur v6, you won't need a very aggressive tire to plant the power until you are heavily modified.

If I did I'd get pearl gold stripes like a Shelby GT. My theme now is red & black.
