Hokai... rims take two...

For those who had been following my other rim thread... couldn't stand the lip on the rims on my wheels up front due to the rims being a bit wide. Got another set, hopefully can recoup most of my losses minus the mount/balance by selling the Termi style rims.

18x8/18x10 Anthracite Bullitts. Was Bullitts or AMRs because of the 8" wide size I wanted up front and the Anthracites I think will set off nicely against my dark blue paint.

Going to have them put on in an hour or so. Got one 18x10 in the trunk, two 18x8s stacked in the rear seat next to my kid's booster seat and the other 18x10 on a blanket in the front seat. Yay roomy SN95!

Tires fit the new rims perfectly. Center caps... no idea why oem center caps don't fit, will be calling about that. Love the look though... I think The previous owner had it right with the bullitts. Just the wrong size and finish lol.

The OEM centercaps i believe are a bit deeper, so you have to trim a bit off of the back for them to fit.

No, they aren't they are shallower. The AM ones are taller when you sit them next to each other and I KNOW mine are OEM because they are Ford stamped and fit into the old 17x8 OEM rims I had on the front. 0 clue with AM would make their rims so OEM did not fit except to make it so you have to use their centercaps and are a rolling advertisement for AM/whatever.

The AFS wheels I had on there prior to this accepted the OEM caps just fine so its not like they can't find a place to make them.

However, I still like the look better. Worst case I will get some $8/each ones and sell my OEM ones for $100.

Edit: Just got told by an AM rep that there was some sort of Ford patent that disallows anyone to make caps in the OEM depth. This means that either AFS is making rims the right depth illegally or they just don't care about center caps from Ford costing $50 each lol. I dunno, now I need to order caps...

Ok I new it was one way or the other that one of them was deeper and shallower.

Yeah, those look better than the Cobras. I guess most Mustangs need Bullitts to look right.
So are you happy with the way that the tires fit the rims now?

Yep fronts and backs are flush like I prefer. Just a little bit of bulge in both. MUCH better fit. I did like the 03 style rims too but these are sweet and the fit is right. They look way better than in the pic where they look silver. They are the dark anthracite. I just need caps now...

Those do fit nicely!

I don't know, it makes it look kind of "tough" without the center caps... gives it that "I don't give a ****" attitude...

Caps came in the other day. Honestly they look pretty good but if I had kept the oem ones I might be modding them. These AM stainless ones are stuck onto the plastic clips so with a heat gun it would be simple enough to take the stainless tops off and do the same with the oem ones and swap them. Oh well lol.
