Drag Tires

I have a 2012 5.0 with a manual tranny & I'm looking for some tires I can run at the drag strip! I was out there today & couldn't hook up to save life..I had to run with TC fully on all day.
Are there any slicks out there that I can fit on my stock 18x8 wheels or do I have to get 15s to get some slicks? I know there's drag radials I can fit on there but I hear drag radials aren't a good idea on manuals. Any info would help thanks!

Get a pair of 15's and some slicks.
Manual Trans and a hard enough launch on drag radials means broken ****.

I think that's what I'm gonna have to do! I just remember reading somewhere (I think on SVTP) that some dude fit some slicks on the stock 18s & since I already have some I could put them to good use! Haha. I guess I'll have to invest in some 15s with slicks!

M&H 18" drag radial, Mickey Thompson 18" drag radial, but as mentioned above, stick shift cars do much better with bias ply tires (ET street bias ply or full on slicks). You can check craigslist for a set of '05-'09 17" wheels and get a set of 17" ET street bias ply tires and they would suit you well.

good luck!

OEM 17x8 mustang gt wheels should bolt right on with no work needed. If you have a hard time finding spare wheels via craigslist, here's an option.

good luck.
