Question Mud flap / paint guard thoughts

So the other day I decided to take off the mud flaps (or paint guards or whatever you call them) from the rear tire wells. I understand their purpose but I can't imagine they are doing anything to help the aerodynamics of the car.

Do you guys keep em or toss em?

Originally they only came on the 07-12 GT500's so I'm not sure if they affected aerodynamics or not. Personally, I've liked the look of them so I had them on my 06 and now on my 10.

For their size, they shouldn't really affect aerodynamics until much higher speeds. After installing a front and rear set on my '12, any negative aerodynamic effect is outweighed by how well they help keep the side of my car clean
