Increase in tire diameter

Hello

So what is the deal if you go from 18 to 19 or 20 diameter tire?

Speedometer off? Can it be adjusted with your tuner?

It all matters on the tire. Since you can run larger or smaller sidewalls that is what matters. When I went from 17s to 18s on my car the overall diameter of the tire stayed the same. So you have to calculate the overall height to see how different it is.

If the radius from the center of the axle to the road changes, then the speedometer will be off a miniscule amount. Id imagine you can adjust for that with the tuner but I never pay attention to that since I don't give a **** about what a sign says about how fast I should go. I pick my speed with what rpm and gear combo I feel like running.

Your speedometer can be off a miniscule amount just by decreasing/increasing tire pressure. Its not enough to worry about really. Look at guys with the big lifted trucks. Their speedos aren't even off by enough to earn you a ticket in most cases and they put some BIG freakin tires on

Increase in tire diameter

It will be off ^

When I changed from a 25.6" to a 25.9" tire it was only off a little bit. But I've seen people go from a 25.6" to a 27" tire and their speedo was off. I expect myself to have to change it again when I go to a 26.4" tire soon

Our trucks speedo is off and I'm pretty sure it's completely stock except for larger tires that are on it when we got it. They aren't even super huge tires like most lifted trucks have and it is off.
