the ways I know of are either some type of external nut remover (Think outside easy-out) or hammering on a slightly smaller socket. Either has a risk. Do you know the mfr of the lug locks and have the key # that is the "right" way to do it.

It's the wheel lock he can't get off. Those are round. I do know hearing years ago thieves would get around them by pounding a smaller socket onto the wheel lock and then removing with a breaker bar, like mentioned earlier.

Did you need a wheel lock to get all the lugs off or only one of them

The best thing to do would be find a 12 point socket and hammer it on that would be your best bet or try other shops because at the one I work at we have special sockets ment just for that we go it from snap on but I'm sure you could get somewhere else

+1 on trying another shop but if there is not much clearance between lug and rim it's tough. I will say eventually you'll have to try something (or ya can just sell it and buy a new Vette!).

Rather keep the 3.8 than get a vette

Exactly what he said above. This happened to me on my previous F-150 with a nice set of chrome Lightning wheels. I had never removed wheel locks before and it worked like a charm on all 4 wheels without a scratch.

All you have to do is find a 12 point socket that is close in size to the locking lug. Carefully tap the socket onto the lock with a hammer until it stops (this seems scary at first, but it's ok!). Then put a big ratchet or breaker bar on the socket and you should easily be able to remove the locking lug.

Then simply put the socket/locking lug in a vise, grab a punch, and hammer the locking lug out of the socket. Repeat the process for the remaining 3 wheels.

Ok. If you are currently driving the car, you might want to get to it sooner than later before you are stuck on the side of the road. Things always tend to happen at the worst times.
