Some Questions about oil and OBD.

hi every body, this is my first post.
I just bought a 1996 stock v6 and was wondering:
I live in Israel, its realy hot and dusty here most of the year. what grade should i use. is semi synth enough? or do i need fs?
where is the obd connector?
is it obd1 or 2?
and i think thats it for now.

I want to say OBD2, and it should be under the driver's side dash.... as in above where your feet go when you're driving.

Being really dusty, the most important thing will be your air filter. Definitely remember to 1) change it frequently if you stay with a stock filter, 2) clean the filter if you get a CAI. I would use full synthetic. The car calls for 5W-20, but you may consider 5/10W-30 full syn.

you might be able to get away with it. Do you drive it easily, or do you drive it like you stole it?

Re: Some Questions about oil and OBD.

first off welcome to the site.

5w40 is not gonna hurt the car at all. I would try to find a 10w30 or 10w40. It doesn't have to be syn at all. but I would get a higher weight than 5. The weight determines how thick the oil is going to be. the hotter the outside temps the heavier the weight you should use. ie. heat thins out the oil, and heavier oil is thicker and will not become too thin in high temps.
