And I only jumped you because you had an elitist attitude that needed to be checked quick. I am able to call you on the attitude because I do not drive a shopping cart and can probably hold my own against your long name car mentioned above.

There are better ways to handle low ball offers than to blast the person doing it...specially when no details nor pictures of the car have been given. Based on data provided, he gave an answer of what it was worth to him.

The long named car without nos runs low 10's Just had to throw that out there and it has a mild not aggresive tune. and imagine if i offered you 2500 for the stang witha 460 how would u like that?

And just to clarify as I did come off prickish...I wasn't bashing your efforts either. I think it is a great swap...and definitely a one off type of car. It's just that I don't think you are going to pull the kind of selling price I think you have pictured.

I woudln't be shocked and would just say um...no. However, I would also know that I would never get prime money for it. If i had finished the project, with the right buyer I could probably pull 7k out of it. However, I would not be shocked to only get offers of 3-4k. But, at the same time, I went into the project knowing it wouldn't be a high priced finished vehincle....so my mind would be in a much different place.

And like I said, I believe I could hold my own with your long named car....but this isn't about a pissing contest like you said before...it's about what we feel your car is worth...

Re: Just testing the waters

If you wanted my honest opinion on what the car was worth, I'd have to see pics first. Then i would do my own research on the car, then I would come and look at it. I have no idea the shape or condition of the V6 body, or the condition of the interior right now.

If I were that certain person who wanted a v6 with an 89 5.0 and bought the car I would probably be purchasing it to drive it as it was, I would not want to have to make alterations/repairs to it ~ body, interior etc. So my price would be based off much more than what is given.

For now, I'd say $3000 is a safe price ~ for a ballpark price, honest answer with the info I have right now

Bump for the swap, and it sounds like the car is tight, I am just curious what you are looking to get out of the car?

Some in the A-pillar would've looked sweet too, but the ones over the AC vents work too.

Re: Just testing the waters

ure probably gonna have to post a time slip to back that 12 second all motor run, because the 94-95 sn95s stock would barely make it to the low 14 barrier. a h/c/i/ 5.0 will definitey pull the times, but a bone stock longblock with the e7 heads, i dont think so, unless u made the car weigh aroung 2100 pounds and running 5.08 gears, the stock claim is a little far fetched.

It's not 12's all motor...it's 12's with a 150 shot of nitrous.

Re: Just testing the waters

also, if your buyer isn't exactly a mustang car nut, they probably will be really unlikely to give you the type of cash you want. I personally love really clean cars, and sometimes engine swaps don't really appeal to me, mostly cause i didn't do the work myself. I'm not saying you did a **** job, but for someone that doesn't know you, how do they know you did everything 100% perfect and it will be a nice ride that won't break within a month. Also like mentioned before, the nos setup might not appeal to buyers cause of the "its probably been driven hard" thing, obviously if you have nos, your probably racing it, high rev, high torque, and all that stresses parts.

I'm personally not looking for a 2k mustang, but before buying my current one, i would probably offer you 3-5k depending on body and interior, 2500 doesn't sound to horrible, like i said i like clean cars, so the gauges everywhere might not be my cup of tea.

Once your pics are up you'll probably get a lot better ball park figures of what people would be willing to part with for your car.

Re: Just testing the waters

I must have missed the point of putting an outdated non efficient 5.0 into a newer car. Usually people take classics and add modern technology to get some money back if any. I think the car would be too specific and would be hard to sell unless someone really appreciates that type of thing. If it's only built for drag racing then I would prefer to have my own set up (which I could throw together for less then what you're probably expecting) and I certainly wouldn't want that for a daily driver.

Re: Just testing the waters

^Yah this is true. I personally would find a custom built V6 more appealing than an older (late 70's to early 90's) engine swap. It would take a person who is specifically wanting a v6 with a 5.0 engine to pay more towards what he wants for it.

Plus, a 3.8 w/ a few supporting mods and a 150shot would be pretty comparable, yet still more reliable and more economical ~daily driver

****, I hope you get at least 6k out of it. I was just kidding with you man. Although I do know how hard it is to swap something like this and try and sell it. I did the same thing with a 97 Blazer and a 350. Good luck with your sale, and like I said, I hope you get exactly what you're wanting out of it.
