Question Spark Plugs

Hey guys, I was under the hood the other day and I saw that it was relatively easy to get to the spark plugs on the driver's side of the vehicle, the passenger side of the vehicle is another story. I'm just wondering what will be the best way to get to the spark plugs on the passenger side of a 2003 V6 Stang.

Re: Spark Plugs

you should change them every 50-60k just to make sure all is good and its cheap.

The drivers side like you said is easy for the passenger side you have to remove the intake, the KEY and I mean KEY to this is taking your time and doing it on a cool engine. Do NOT cross thread the bolts and use a tiny bit of anti seeze on the threads of the new plugs.

Re: Spark Plugs

do one at a time and don't accidentaly drop a ratchet in between the exhaust manifold and the engine block (sold the car and it is still probably in there lol)

My buddy changes them whenever he runs out of something to do on his car, about once a month

Re: Spark Plugs

I use flexes and it works pretty well. The one near the firewall on the driver's side is the hardest, but lt's actually make it a little easier.

Wow, We just had a main deisel tech loose a wrench for about a week. (his fav wrench) Well guess what, a truck just came back in yesterday with a horrible noise from the turbo. We just replaced the turbo.

All I can say is:

We found his wrench....

Re: Spark Plugs

A few cars I've looked at, looking inside the engine bay I'll find a wrench or a screwdriver. I'll ask the owner or whoever it is if he has a mechanic and is missing a tool.

There's a new Challenger driving around here with a shallow 7mm socket and 1/4"-hex adapter in its rear deck that I'd love to get back.

Not as bad as the wrench-turbo story though.
