ok, i know this guy whos been talking alot about his car, its like a 99 v6 auto, and he has intake, exhaust, jet chip, and p&p on intake and heads. he said he dynoed at over 250hp, and he said he can kill gt's. what iam curious to know it he is telling the truth, cause i dont think that would get u to 250. can anyone help me out hear? and he also said he gained over 30hp form a jetchip? can anyone clarafy this. please help thanks.

Re: with bolt on's, could this be true?

I could see 250 hp at the flywheel. When did they gain the 30 hp from the jet chip? Was it after all the ported stuff went on the car? A dyno tune might net 30 flywheel but I highly doubt an OTS tune will do that.

Anything else done with the heads besides a port job?
What year GT's is he killing?

I hate questions like this because we don't know all the facts. Give more info if you want better answers.

heads/intakes with bolt ons 250 is stretching it, probably a touch over 200 imo

Re: with bolt on's, could this be true?

well i can only tell u what i know, and i saw his engine, he has a cai, duel exhaust p&p heads and intake, between 97-04gt, says he beats them up to about 125 or 130, till he tops out. i really dont think hes telling the truth, cause i hear him slipping on basic stuff, so iam not shure, i have seen the chart on v6power, and i think it says around 230. and he put the jet chip on last, cause he got into an accident and messed up the motor, and he had them ported when they had to fix it. thats about all the info i have. i mean find out how fast his car is, cause we r meeting up at a show tomarow, but just curious what u guys thought about it.

Nah, this guys sounds like the typical wannabe BSer. He's probably had a situation where he 'thought' he over took a 96-98 GT and now assumes that his car is a freak of nature. I would line'em up and see how it turns out. If he wins he wins, no hurt feelings, just props for him!

without PP intakes and heads its not anywhere near that, with just bolt ons (stock is 155 for manual trans) he is probably around 175~

Re: with bolt on's, could this be true?

as someone with a v6 hes not telling the truth! and 30 hp from a chip is pushing it! now if he had say a turbo or a supercharger to back up his story i would believe him! but unfortunatly a few bolt ons with some porting done doesnt out run a v8! like they said line him up and let the clock board pseak for its self! i just hope his girls not with him LOL

Re: with bolt on's, could this be true?

honestly a jet chip sounds like one of those resistor fake chips u get off ebay for $25-$30 bucks! ask to see it! if its wired to his MAF then its bunk! its just a lil resistor thats only good for 3-4 hp if any at all! A real deal one would be something like the predator that plugs into the computer of the car! just look around at his engine and if you see that lil peice of crap wired to his MAF (its on the intake tube) then hes full of it and bet it all! u can use his own cockyness and ego against him! i know alot of v6ers who think they can bye a few parts off ebay and out run a GT! just aint happeing bro! trust me it has takin me 2 years and a few thousand to get mine to hang with one! but after turbo its all she wrote i say good day!

haha, i dont rember his engin bay to a t, but it was this square piece, that was connected to a bunch of wire harnneses, wasnt pluged into his maf or intake tube. saw a dyno of them doing it to a 05 v6 and gaind olmost 20hp or so, but i dont think its that much with 99-04. but it can also take off your rev limmiter, and i guess thats were his added power is, when he beets the gt's? i saw this page to, #26 is a 2000 v6 with it and made **** numbers, so i dont see how with just a port and a jet chip i could beet gt's? ahhhh, again ill find out how fast he is next week if the weather is ok.

Well just hope that he bumps over that "no longer there" rev limiter a few times and floats a valve. Then his car and his brain would have something in common.

IDK what you are spending your money on (a few thousand). At most i have spent like $500 on my mods (CAI, Underdrive pulleys, TB spacer, and wires) and i am beating a 03 GT (Auto & Convt) but still a GT, and a 98 GT (auto). And i am not saying i own GTs by any means.

oh yea the 96-98 gts are easy to beat with a few mods on a 99-04 v6 because the 96-98 gts have single port heads and are missing about 30hp! now the 99-04 gts are a lil different!

If you go over the v6 dyno sheet you posted you can see what mods it took to reach that number whats his user name

Well still beat both but remember the 03 GT was CONVT and AUTO compared to the 98 GT just being AUTO

well, i am trying to avoid a street race, but we will never end up on the track, but honestly if he is telling the truth a p&p and a chip, will kill my car no? i mean all i have is duel exhaust, intake mainifold spacer, cold air intake, and a race filter, say if he did have olmost 30hp more then me, how much do u think that would effect a race? o, and he also has 17/8 bullit rims, if that would matter. and i know people r going to say, "just do it olready and find out" but just want to know what everyone thinks of this.

I know this has been beat to death by now.. but he's BSing.. lets see some #s.. he could probably beat 96-98 GTs, but they weren't ford's best years for the v8s.. add some breathing mods and they're not nearly as bad

I'm barely pushing 260HP to the wheels, and I'm running a good deal of intercooled boost with a good number of mods through my 3.8...

well bro if its all true and P&P was professionally done then yes he could be pushing 250 HP.....but u could probably still hang with him till about 3rd gear! unless he put some new pulleys or something in then his torque numbers have only slightly gone up unless he put a torque tune on it...and HP with NO torque is like a FINE ***** WITH NO ***.....U REALLY AINT GOT ****!

Re: with bolt on's, could this be true?

well, honestly, i can say that after 80mph and about 5000rpm, my car is prity much done, i can give a good pull form 0-80, but form 40-60 its slow, but form 60-80/90 is prity quick, i really need a tune, i shift out of first gear at olmost 40, then 2nd is till about 90, then 3rd/od, is the slowest gear, i was thining if i can get a good take off, i can get him till about 80 or so, i want a shift kit, casue the stock auto settings r not really ment for quick shifting. o and i will try to and get it recored, but we will see what happens.

With the propper h/c/i setup it's easy to do 250RWhp in an N/A New Edge V6. Hell I was at 200hp on a Mustang Dyno before I had a few extra goodies, and when we did the pull I had a stock worn out spark plug wire on my #1 cylinder.

That link is about 4-6 years old. The car at the top with 265hp, actually just broke 650hp on twins.

I wouldn't have put it quite that way, but +1 for torque.. my HP isn't the best, but 362 ft lbs @ the wheels is a lot of fun and makes up the difference.. my car covers the most distance the quickest amount of time in the first 1/8th of the 1/4 mile.. top end not so great..

Re: with bolt on's, could this be true?

ok, update. well we were going to a party tonight, and on the way we had a few runs... i killed him from 0-110, with olmost 2 car leginths, then from 30-90 i killed him also, he cought up twards the end, but it was olready enough distance for me to get a "W". hes not lieing about the stuff done to his car, but i guess my motor was just built better? if i get a tune, and pullies, i will crush him.

thanks for clarifying... I don't know if people up here just don't modify v6's or not, but I haven't come across one that holds a candle to the GT

focus on your typing, I'm not sure why, but this post hurt to read

congrats sir. We weren't saying he was lying about his mods... we were saying he was lying about his numbers... which he obviously was.
