Tried that, the light was off before i unlocked the car, it turns on by its self when you unlock the doors with the remote as you know, then usually goes off when you start the engine ! tonight it stayed on !!!

Yes, there is an SVT badge on the bootlid with a Cobra snake ! You failed to notice the Cobra taillights though ! Orange rear turnsignals are a legal requirement here in the UK. Nobody in the UK "well hardly" knows what a Cobra is, Mustangs are very rare overhere, belive it or not this V6 atracts more atention than a new Ferrari here in England !

Hey you European you

My 95 did the same, but the light will turn off automatically after 10 minutes to an hour. I didn't change or do anything with it, since it was back to normal before I got to fix it. It can be a sensor in the door handles thats jammed or something.

I have my bulb out too. I think mine is a short in the wiring going to the dome light. When I put pressure on it with my hand it sometimes goes off. It also flashes on and off when I am driving which is kind of hilarious! Basically you drop the clutch and the dome light comes on. I am going to try rewiring the light in the ceiling.

My ranger does the same thing...you drive down the road and it dings like the door is open...so I took all the bulbs out of the dome lights and use a flashlight at night to see stuff in the truck. Way too lazy to work on the truck.

Dome light won't go off

Try changing the dome light relay first. Normally these are the cheesiest little annoyance you will find. After so many hours of operation, they stick together and the contacts will not open. It's about a $5.00 part. might be able to take it apart also and clean contacts with emery file as well.
Good luck
