Seats Reupholster? Or buy Ford/Corbeau??

This isn't one of the immediate plans that I would really like to do for my car, however I think at some point down the road I'll have to do it. My leather on my driver’s side is ripped in about oh 3-6 places, it looks ****ty to be honest. I'm wondering because I have the electronic seats should I just go and get estimates for them to be reupholstered? I found a few shops in my area, but just haven't decided on it yet, but I know it’s an important future plan. I've seen on other sites that the cobra/ anniversary cars (35th/40th) have the most comfortable seats; however what are the odds that they are going to be in better condition than mine? Also would any of you consider going from electronic to a manual seat like the ones on THR's website. The Corbeau seats look nice, but then I guess I lose the electronic seat, which is always nice especially for a daily driver. Opinions, questions, sarcastic remarks are appreciated. Thanks.

the stock seats you have suck pretty bad so either buy a oem set of ford gt/cobra seats or go with some others, dont waste money on the ones you have

Re: Seats Reupholster? Or buy Ford/Corbeau??

I ripped out my heavy *** powered seats and slapped in Corbeau Legacys. Power seat is useless if you're the only one that drives. My seat has sat in the same position since I installed it, no need to adjust it it. I may move it forward and bring the back up a little for racing but that's it, and it's faster manually anyway.

If you do put in racing seats, stick with name brand stuff. All the big companies have their stuff crash tested, cheapo no-name ebay seats aren't tested in any way. If a seat breaks in as little as a 10mph impact, you will be in some serious trouble and the seatbelt will be useless, basically picture getting in a wreck using a 5-gallon bucket as a seat.

you can take the stock seat and remove the power stuff and seat track and put a manual seat track on it, it will also lower the seat by about an inch
