abs and trac control light.

My wifes 02 mustang had the abs light pop on and then go off for a couple weeks and not its on all the time and now when its on the trac contol is off and you can't turn it back on. I have a abs code reader but for some reason it will not read her mustang, just wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this and if so what the problem was. Thanks

Re: abs and trac control light.

Most likely a bad sensor on one of the hubs. An OBDII code-reader might give you a little more insight. take off each wheel and inspect the sensor and the tone ring first.

Re: abs and trac control light.

my t/c light is on, but thats due to my tuner permanently turning it off in the computer. and my abs light is on due to me accidently knicking the abs sensor (lol) on the hub during my gear swap install. So uh, whatever thats worth, just my 2cents.

Re: abs and trac control light.

Not just any OBD II Scanner will read ABS issues. I would bring it to a local reputable shop or a buddy that has the knowledge/equipment to read it.

Check your battery, a lot of times a low voltage code can set and cause other Vigilante codes that aren't real.
