Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

??? The gears will put you back in your seat meaning when you take off it will get to a higher rpm quicker put also meaning its faster (if speed is what you want) The tuner make the shifts quicker meaning no waiting time and not that 2 second waiting period justa take off and i recommend you get some cat backs preferably magnaflows.

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

Cat-back is a term for mufflers and a pipes that come behind the mid-pie which usually have cats on it you don't but the new pipes you have on will say the rusty ones that got the muffler and tailpipe will turn into two mufflers and two tailpipes it sounds alot better than straights.

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

The tuner will change the shift points and pressures. It will probably not help with the delay when accelerating. That delay you feel is the transmission/torque converter building up pressure and performing a downshift. All you really can do about that is be proactive. If you guys do a countdown from a roll try to floor it at 2 and by the time he says 3 it will be pulling just like that standard.

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

not cherry bombs they sound lik fart cans I'd get magnaflows, flowmasters, flowtech, bbk, one of those brands there are a few others i can't think of right now. Got to americanmuscle.com and click on exhaust and go to 99-04 then catbacks, then look for the ones for the v6 and that is what you'll be getting

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

Your not getting me your not putting catalyctic converters back on your keeping your mid straights you told me you have the stock mufflers. The "CAT-BACKS" are a muffler system that goes behind catalyctic converters in your case behind straights. It will bolt up to your straight pipes.

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

catbacks go from the "cats" (which you don't have) BACK to the exaust tips. that section of pipe is called "cat-back" dont know if this helps any, its a slightly differn't wording, just trying to help you out upton7

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

First off Cold Air Intake. 2nd if you can look under there and draw it that would be fine. 3rd Short and long tubes basically its in the name long tubes go down under the engine and shorty are just like the stock exhuast manifolds but flow better. I'd wouldn't get either. Mainly cuz long tubes you have to lift the engine. And your stock manifolds flow just as good as the shortys

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

and about those gears, if i were to put those 4.10's on and that tloc orwhtvr, ive read in some of these post that the tunning is off or something, the speedometer is off by like 10mph either up or down and that the car doesnt shift right or something whats up with that?

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

only thing you have to worry about with gears is the speedometer. You can get a speed calibrator that will fix it, or you can get a handheld tuner to fix the speedometer and it will further increase the effectiveness of the gears. To check for an exhuast leak just start the car and feel by the ehuast maniflod or an other place wehre to pieces of pipe come together.

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

so most likley i will need to calibrate the speedometer right?
is that expensive?
so breaking it down like this:

1. cold air intake
2. 4.10 gears
3. slip loc?/t-loc? ?forgot what its called?
4. hand held tuner/pc tuner?
or am i missing something or what?
talk to me...i should be starting to get these mods in the next two weeks
i'll prob start off with the cold air intake.
or what?

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

go ahead and get the cai out of the way if you are wnating it. it wont add much. Then order a set of 4.10 gears and a t-lok for a 7.5 rear end then get the bearings to go with it. Then get a tuner and have them tune for a cai and a set of 4.10 gears

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

cai?? means cold air intake right?
when i order the gears ima have to have me a tuner already right to get it tuned cuz if i order the gears and a month later the tuner ima have some problems right?
and so gears are for better launch, t loc is for 2 wheel burn outs , and and it needs to b
tuned in all together.
after getting these mods in what should i do next to it to get me more hp/speed?

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

Ok go to americanmuscle.com go to drivetrain then go to gear see if there is a tuner gear kit for the 7.5 rear end if not order the tuner gears and tlock and bearings in that order then do them all at once

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

ok im on the site and there is kits w the gears and tuner but for 8.8 rear ends only, not for my v6 7.5 you said i had ..
so is that out of the question?
also having my top up or down, does it make a difference when racing?
ive done both and both seem the same to me. idk ??

Re: ???Inake,exhaust leak ???

Top up. And since there is no kit for 7.5 you need to just order them all seperatly.
