cheese with my whine

I just bought my first mustang last monday. It's a 1998 v6 w/101000 miles and needs much work. The rear end is whining something awful, probably because the axil vent is plugged. Anyway, I got shims and seals and intend to dismantel today. Does anybody know the correct lash/pinion torque specs? I'd rather not use rolling paper method if possible. Thanx
