Read that for the parts.
As far as brands, you need to be more specific.

Not everyone can afford to just up and buy a supercharger turbocharger or nitrous thats why most of us do the other steps first. Plus if i do the first couple stages and then blow it down the road it will be much faster.

one of the best bits of advice i can give is sit down and realistically figure out where you want to go with the car, keeping in mind reliability and cost etc and then once you have that go about it the best way possible

I don't think that the list was a waste of money at all. As with anything you see on forums and sites, its a GUIDE, not everything on that list I am going to purchase - but it gave me the introduction that I needed and guidance along the way. When it comes down to it, it depends on how much $$$ and time you have. Spector V is right - the owner has to sit down, figure out the goals and from there come up with their own list/steps/stages. What worked for one is not going to work for all...

As someone who just purchased a used mustang as well here is my advice:

--- I know for some this should go without saying - but I think it is important to mention...Before you do ANYTHING - have a mechanic you trust who is not going to BS you do a COMPLETE look over of the car. It makes no sense to go out and spend $$$ for performance parts when your car is not up to par. Any and all aftermarket parts will work their best once the car is on point.

-- Read & Educate yourself... from there it will be easier to make decisions on the brands that you want and the mods you want to complete. Any advice that people give you will make so much more sense once you have the basic understanding of where you want to go and why...

Last but not least - WELCOME!

Whether you decide to build a 500 hp monster, or a 200rwhp dd, I'd still get gears and a tlok. This is probably one of the most effective mods you can do. Everyone that has done it has been happy with the results. The most important thing is that the install is done right the first time...so find a reputable, trustworthy shop to do the work.

Re: need suggestions on v6

Here is a great quote from the almighty Spector V regarding the install:

"dont skimp on this install as doing it wrong can cost you much more than just a redo as once the gears get worn wrong.. you have to buy new ones.

Basically if the shop tells you when they install them they set the backlash, pinion crush sleeve, gear wear pattern and the likes then they know what they are doing, you dont just bolt them up and go.

Get a warranty (here is the tricky part for some) IN WRITING stating that you are covered for X miles from whine or breakage or any other issues. If one of the little bolts around the ring gear comes off say bye bye to the entire rear end."

Re: need suggestions on v6

So do you want to drag, show, or drive the car. Bottom line is, You can't do all 3 and be good at all 3. Its be good at one and ok at the others...I recommenced buying a beater to drive and making it a track whore.
