Whats better "H" "y" "X" or true Duel, pipes for a 2007 V6 duel set up.

Re: Exhaust ?

Well, from what i've heard, the h-pipe doesn't really matter to us since we have an even firing engine, though it will keep the exhaust from getting too raspy.

An x-pipe will probably make whatever exhaust tone you have pretty raspy beyond 2500rpms. Despite this, a lot of people use them on v6's.

The y is just the stock adapter that converts the two catted pipes down to one single pipe. You can buy a converter back system that bolts right up to the y-pipe. These aren't the best systems, but they are okay if you want better sound and looks.

Two straight pipes (true dual) will make the v6 sound bad. No cats will make it too loud and obnoxious. I wouldn't recommend it. The best sounding sixxer is a quieter, more mellow sounding sixxer.

Many people use the weld-in adapters, h or x-pipes, or the stock y-pipe.
Either way, I would keep the cats. Whether they are stock or high flow, I would have some kind of cats on. Paired with some good mufflers, you will have a decent sounding v6.

It's basically up to you. I've heard all the different options on v6's, the only one I wouldn't recommend is the straight pipe option.

you will get alot of differnt answer on this subject... here mine..... with our s197 v6 engine there is no real reason to add header or dual exhaust... u gain no a thing but you will spend a lot of money for not a thing.... i do remend that you remove the stock muffler and replace it... i am using a jba unit.. nice tone, not loud , has a nice sound to it. dual exhaust system can cost u up to 900 dollars... spend ur money on something that will give back hp!!!:

Re: Exhaust ?

for a V6 you dont need a balance pipe the engine is even fire to start with, an H wont hurt anything but isnt needed.
