Re: 3.8 non charged

you will need basically the entire engine, the heads/intake tract is most of it but the engine will need to be built to handle the boost of a roots blower and make any sort of good power.

Re: 3.8 non charged

so the stock 3.8 without the charger won't handle the boost I have a guy that had the heads and everything to put a charger on fuel rail, intake etc I'm worried about the bottem end, is the 3.8 have the same pistons and crank ?

1) What year is the 3.8L engine that you have
2) what year is the 3.8L that the charger that you want to buy come off of
3) how much is the guy going to charge you for the charger ?
note: all of the 01-04 3.8L engines have the best short block. The heads if not from a SC equipped car, would at least need upgraded valve springs, hardened push rods and I'd go with some billet 1.8:1 rockers from Harland Sharp. The intakes are different depending on what year of 3.8L engine is why I asked the questions above. Also, I don't know what you're planning on spending on the charger. I'm aware of another option depending on your responses.
