Exclamation Exhaust Whistling

I have a 2004 v6 mustang with a flowmaster 40 muffler and just recently it started making this constant whistling sound. You can only hear it from the rear. Its not overly loud but kinda gets annoying. Maybe a leak in the muffler?

Re: Exhaust Whistling

I would get under the vehicle while it is running and check to see if you can find the location the noise originates from.

take it back to the muffler shop you got the exhaust in stalled at. if there is a leak at one of the welds they should fix it for free.

Re: Exhaust Whistling

Is it a constant whistling or does it get louder or go away when you rev it up?

Re: Exhaust Whistling

you can wait till its cold (if it does it when its cold as well) and spray some soapy water around the muffler and see if you notice air comming out
