question for true dual exhaust convert

i have everything i need. (xpipe, midpipe, flowmaster 40s, and even the street scene rear lip with dual exhaust cutouts.)

sooo i was wondering. are the tips going to stick out real far. thats what ive seen in some videos. or do you have to pay to have them cut to fit nicely even.

Re: question for true dual exhaust convert

that's something you won't know till you get it installed. some kits give you enough adjustment and some don't.

Re: question for true dual exhaust convert

Sometimes the hangers that come with the kit will push the tips out as well. When I did my dual exhaust, the hangers for the stock bumper pushed the tips out about 3inches.

When I did the GT bumper I used the hangers meant for the GT bumper and it made the tips only stick out past the cutouts by an inch.

I've seen flowmaster systems on other mustangs, and they usually don't stick out too far. The slash cut usually makes them look more "tucked" in.

Like hottcobra said, wait and see how it looks once installed, then adjust if needed.

Re: question for true dual exhaust convert

If you have an x-pipe you won't have true duals. True duals don't come together.

Re: question for true dual exhaust convert

most shops wont charge much to fit the tips, do NOT go with chrome tips they will rust quickly and look horrible, and angle the tips up a tad bit as the angle of the bumper aginst a tip thats level with the ground makes the tip look angled down.

Look at a stock 94-98 GT their exhaust looks like its pointing down when in fact its pointing straight out

Just don't point them up to much. You'll discolor your bumper

No TRUE DUALS is pipes that go straight from the exhuast manifolds to the mufflers to the tips it's how it was done to all the 60's and 70's muslce cars.

GT's come with a H-pipe. Hence...there is a crossover tube. Hence....

Re: question for true dual exhaust convert

so GTs dont have daul exhaust. Just 2 mufflers.

Oh yeah and you better fill in all the exhaust companies on this, because all of their TRUE DUAL EXHAUST have crossovers. Im sure you know more about exhaust than they do.

BBK told me i'd get 15 horsepower from an x pipe and 15 horsepower from a cai. Does that mean that is true too?

You need to put the pipe away !!!! true Duals have no crossover or X-pipe there really not needed with a even fire motor like the ford V6 TRUE dual exhaust = pipes after the cats to the muffler

Re: question for true dual exhaust convert

He was right about the old cars. On my father-in-law's 69 Satalite(same as roadrunner) there is no crossover. However doesnt this dispute the flow equalizing theory? Btw the satalite has a 440CI V8 from a police car it came with a 383CI.
